Ideal Wedding Setting

I'm sure everyone has had thoughts (whether you are single, engaged, or already married) on your idea of the perfect place to get married. For those of you who are married, maybe it's a place you discovered after you got married. For those of you who are engaged, it may be a place your unable to afford. And then finally, for those of you who are patiently waiting, maybe it's the place you have always dreamed of.  

Here it is.

A night under the stars. The lighting is perfect. It is one of the most important elements to creating the perfect mood. I love the string of lights that dangles above the guests and the up lighting that makes the space feel warm and inviting. This scene is the perfect canvas to making the night whatever you want it to be.

Unfortunately for me, I am cursed with a little thing called: it rains on every big occasion I have ever. had. You name it, and it has rained. High School Graduation, College Graduation, College Graduation Party, 21st Birthday. Rain, Rain, Rain Rain Rain. I fear that if I dare to ever have an outdoor wedding, it will rain.

Until the day comes that I am faced with this decision, I will envision a night that looks like this.

Gorgeous Winter Wedding Venue

I am in LOVE with this venue!! I am such a porch enthusiast, and the garland and lights just melt my heart. One problem. I don't know where the heck this place is! If anyone knows the name of this venue or where it is located, I would love to know!!

Snow!

Ok. So maybe there wasn't this much snow today, but it got me excited! I love it when there is just a light dusting on the ground. It gives the perfect glow to white Christmas lights.

Time to Warm Up...

I was doomed from the start this morning. I woke up late, somehow maneged to turn my closet inside out, to only get to my car and see frost covering it in it's entirety. Do you know what that meant? No time for Starbucks. And do you know what that meant? It's going to be a longggggggg day.

I came across this photo and have been jealous ever since. This picture is perfection.

Wedding Detail: Sparklers

I mean come. on. Sparklers are my favoriteeeee. They photograph so amazingly and are the perfect alternative to anything that would make a mess. When getting married in a church, they will most likely not allow the throwing of rice, flower petals, or any bubbles (too messy!). Sparklers are simple, gorgeous, and add extra shimmer to an already *sparkling* day.

My kate spade obsession is at an all time high now that I have come across this post by Felt and Wire. kate spade has come out with a new book, a spin off of their online series that they have been doing for over 2 years now titled, Things We Love. It is a compilation of all things fabulous, wonderful, and naturally, loved by kate spade.

There is a house a few towns over that carves and displays a ton of pumpkins. I loveee it! How incredible is this?

Favorite Wedding Detail: Striped Paper Straws

I LOVE striped paper straws. Its such a simple way to add a little bit of fun and whimsy to your wedding or event. They can come in a variety of colors (with the most common being red, gray, and blue) and are adorable. How can you beat that?!

Kate Spade Inspiration

I am head over heels for kate spade (as you can see again here). For someone who loves to wear black and feels you can never go wrong with neutrals, I am inspired by the amazing use of color and playfulness that is captured in every last ounce of what they do. I am a dedicated facebook follower, and needed to share some recent photos of their new London Pop-Up Shop.

Martha Stewart Bridal Market Party 2010, Part 1

I cannot even begin to explain what a wonderful time I had at the Martha Stewart Bridal Market Party last night! From the second I walked in the door I knew that this was going to be an experience.  As soon as you stepped off the elevator, Elan Artists was playing and they completely set the mood for the entire evening. Then as I rounded the corner, I spotted Sylvia Weinstock. I have always read so much about her and recently caught her on an episode of Bravo's Just Desserts. I wanted to run right up to her (along with Martha herself, Darcy Miller, Lara Casey, Randy Fenoli, Mark Ingram.. you get the picture!)  and introduce myself. But I tried to contain myself. =)

Then you walked into a sparkly heaven. There was glitter everywhere! The chandelier was amazing. The dim room light reflected off it perfectly.

My first table stop was over to Tribeca Treats and Bella Cupcake Couture. Their desserts were to die for! I was able to meet Rachel Schifter, the author of Sweet Chic and owner of Tribeca Treats. She was so sweet! I can't wait to buy the book!

Then there were pipecleaner rings. I had seen these on the blogs of those who attended Martha Stewart's 15th Anniversary Party and was so excited that she was there again! How cleaver are these rings!?

Waiters walked around with scrumptious drinks and bite size h'ordeuvres that were to die for. The presentation was truly amazing!

Ah. Lavender Sachets by The Wedding Library. This table smelled phenomenal. There is something about lavender that just puts my heart at ease!

Smilebooth was there!! Lindsey (my date for the evening!) and I were so excited. It was also nice because Ashley, my June bride and her fiance Keith are itching to have them at their wedding! It was nice to have a test run. Also because I feel like I am the only person who has never been to an event where they have been! Got Cake?

This yummy dessert table by Sandals had all my favorites. And I am just a sucker for a white candy table.

Then there was the calligraphy of Neither Snow. Mara was so kind and her work is stunning. Lindsey and I had to make multiple trips to her table because she was always so crowded!

There were so many great things that I just could not capture with my camera quick enough. Part 2 will take you through the tour of Martha's office's that we were given right before we left. Stay tuned!

Soft Pretzels

I have a weakness for soft pretzels. When I came across this post on Hither and Thither, I just needed to share! If these pretzels from Sigmund Pretzel Shop on Avenue B don't make you hungry, I don't know what will!

Paperfinger

I am such a sucker for calligraphy. Much like I am for letterpress, as you can see if you read back at any of my wedding posts. But what Bryn at Paperfinger does is different. It's unique. And it's gorgeous. I could stare at her work all day long. Her illustrations are adorable. I have yet to come across one that I don't like!

  

And then there are napkins. I can honestly say that I have never seen someone do anything like this before. I mean, I draw on my napkins on the time, but this? I love. You could bet that anyone who would receive this would be sure to remember it!
