Bachelorette Party Guide: Downtown NYC

11/30/11

For the Bachelorette Party weekend filled with good hair, amazing food, and tasty cocktails in NYC.

Unwind: At The W, Union Square. Check into your cozy suite with your best gals and let the fun begin. You have the world (and lively Union Square) right at your feet.

Beautify: Once you have had the chance to relax, sip some champagne and prep yourself for the evening, head on over to The Dry Bar for that extra added touch. Choose from a list a gorgeous blowouts, for only $40. Maybe the Manhattan's sleek and smooth look will suite your fancy.

Eat: Once your all dolled and feeling like a million bucks, it's time to indulge on a delicious dinner at Blue Water Grill. The menu is to die for. Enjoy an artichoke, smoked mozzarella and prosciutto flatbread appetizer, followed by fresh sushi rolls or blue cheese crusted filet mignon. Don't forget to finish it all off with a slice of red velvet cheesecake.

Drink: Once you've finished everything on your plate, it's time to head on over to The Belmont Lounge.  Whether you have a party of 4 or 15, enjoy the warm atmosphere and tasty drinks. The 1940's Sparkling Julep with Absolut Apeach, Chambord, Pineapple Juice, topped with Prosecco and a mint leaf sounds just about perfect.

Relax: After a long and fulfilling evening, wake up to the thoughts of mani pedis... and not even having to leave your room. Wake up to breakfast and in room spa treatments. It's the perfect way to end the weekend.

Turn up the Christmas music and fire up the oven! There is no better way to get in the spirit of the holiday season then with some good old baking. Having fun while indulging in a little something sweet together is quite the mood booster.

1. Mimi Holliday Tarte Tatin Lace Teddy: $144
2. Beautiful Bottoms Emerald Set: $118
3. La Perla Lady S Set: $155
4. Beautiful Bottoms Taupe Set: $142
5. Eberjay Cleo Set: $87

Honeymoon Hot Spot: Six Senses Con Dao, Vietnam

You have seen Six Senses here before (one of my personal favorites is here). But Con Dao in Vietnam needed to be added to the list. I love the feeling of being right on the beach, with a pool right outside your door, and of course- breath taking views. And how much fun do those chair swings look like? I'd be at the bar all day!

Date Night: STK, Los Angeles

11/28/11

I was inspired to write an LA date night when I saw this date night outfit post on Glamour.com:

The thought of being able to wear a dress and tights in November (nearly December!) is almost unthinkable. My typical November New York City holiday season date night attire consists of a chunky sweater, black pants and knee high boots accompanied by a heavy coat, cashmere gloves and warm scarf.

So, whether you are in Los Angeles in your tights and light jacket, or New York City with your scarf and gloves, enjoy a delightful date night at delicious STK Restaurant:

So it's Thanksgiving Eve! Truth be told- this is actually one of the biggest drinking days of the year. Are you throwing your own little Friendsgiving? Or maybe meeting up at a local bar with some old HS friends? Whatever it is that you do, have so much fun!

Thanksgiving Side Dishes

Who doesn't love a good Thanksgiving side dish? You will never find me without a roll on my plate to soak up all of the delicious leftover gravy. If your hosting this year (or even if you just need something to bring!) be sure to whip up these tasty parker house rolls.

Bridesmaids In White

11/22/11

Other than Kim Kardashians maids, I have personally never seen a wedding with bridesmaids in white... but I know they happen! Have you ever been to or in a wedding with white bridesmaid dresses?

Monday Night Dinners

11/21/11

{photo via}

The colder months are definitely upon us. Warm up with an easy to make dinner for you and your loved one.

Try this classic:
A cheddar cheese grilled cheese with tomato soup.
My trick? Cook them in a pan. They come out crisped to perfection.

Thanksgiving Cocktails

Looking to steer clear of the beer this Thanksgiving while trying to watch your bridal figure? I don't blame you. Try this yummy sparkling pomegranate punch sans sugar (add some extra fruit for extra sweetness).

1 cup pomegranate juice
two 750-milliliter bottles sparkling wine, chilled
3/4 cup late-harvest white wine (such as a Riesling), chilled
2 oranges, thinly sliced crosswise
1 cup diced fresh pineapple
1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
add ice cubs when serving

Honeymoon Hot Spot: Ponta Dos Ganchos, Brazil

11/18/11

I have always heard amazing things about Brazil, but have never actually looked into any of the resorts there. I was happily surprised when I came across the Ponta Dos Ganchos. From the huge tubs with the best view in the house, to the gorgeous vaulted ceilings, what's not to love?

Salted Caramel Cheesecake, Thanksgiving Dessert

11/17/11

If you don't follow Joy the Baker, you should start. She posts some of the most mouth watering recipes I have ever seen. Take for example, this Salted Caramel Cheesecake recipe. It's all my favorite things in one amazingly tasty dessert. Bring this to Thanksgiving and I'm pretty sure you'd be everyone's new best friend.
